The Weekend...

Friday nights are family nights and this one included roasting marshmallows, movies and pulling out the couch bed. It was like 75 degrees in our house but we opened the windows, turned on the air and had a fire anyway because that's how we roll. We had the chocolate marshmallows and boy are they good!

On Saturday, we attended 3 birthday celebrations with one for my niece being at our house. It was just a small family thing. Prestley really enjoyed spending time with her cousin. She doesn't get to see her often enough. They are so cute together. We were on the go most of the day so I really didn't get any pictures.

Saturday night, after all the festivities, Chris went to play poker and a few of my friends brought their kids over to hang out a while. After everyone left, I was getting ready to get in bed when something really strange happened. All the lights were off and I was leaning over on the bed trying to plug my phone into the charger when I felt the bed start shaking. I thought Prestley might have snuck back into the room and climbed up on it but it wasn't her. I stood up and felt kind of disoriented and thought for a second, I must be going crazy. I got into bed and a few seconds later my phone starts ringing. It was my brother in law asking if I just felt the earthquake. Yes, EARTHQUAKE!!!! Holy, cow! Yes, I felt it but I thought I was crazy. Turns out I wasn't. I immediately called Chris and told him to get home because I was freaked out by it. It really was the strangest feeling and I hope we don't have any more.

On Sunday, we got up and got ready for church. Ignore the picture of me, but if you look in the background, you'll see someone stealing my shoes.

After church, we met 30, yes 30, of the Stovall clan at El Chico in Town East mall for lunch and that's not even half of them...lol. There was a pet shop across from the restaurant that the kids hung out at to kill time. We got more than we bargained for when they left with some sort of bugs on them. We still aren't sure what they were but we found at least 4 different looking tiny little bugs crawling on Prestley's back. She was complaining of being itchy and scratching herself until she bled. On the way home we pulled the van over and took all her clothes off and started inspecting and that's when we saw the bugs. I hate any kind of bugs so of course I'm freaking out. We all go home and immediately strip down. We all took showers, washed our clothes, vacuumed out the van, vacuumed the whole house and I'm still itching just thinking about it. Hopefully, we got rid of whatever it was.

After that fiasco, we had our small group bible study. On the way there, I noticed something stuck on the back of the drivers seat. We find toys and animals stuck in the weirdest places. My kids are crazy. After small group, we headed home and hit the sack. It was a long and busy weekend.

Prestley does this crazy contortionist move where she goes down to the floor with her head...lol...she said that's called the drop it. She's so funny!

Princess brunch & Disney's Three Classic Fairy Tales Live

This past Sunday I got to stay home and watch football while Chris was sipping tea at a princess brunch lol. The Wylie rec center hosted a daddy daughter princess brunch and then took them to see Disney's Three Classic Fairy Tales Live. Prestley got to dress up and they had so much fun. Hudsyn was too young but I let her dress up like a princess too :) I wish I had some video from the brunch. They ate, did crafts, and had a father/daughter dance. It was really special. Chris said the show was really good as well so if it comes to your town and you have a little girl, go see it!

We took a little time out to play outside before dinner. Hudsyn cracks me up. Everytime she sees a camera she says cheese real loud and holds her cheese face until you take the picture.

Hudsyn can climb up and slide all by herself but she hasn't learned how to put her feet down so she crash lands every time :)

Rainforest Cafe and Aquarium

I will say that if we ever want to make Hudsyn behave, all we have to do is take her to the Rainforest Cafe. She was terrifed. Everytime the monkey's would start she'd clench on to us and start shaking. She sat so still the entire time. I didn't get any good pictures because we were carrying around a bunch of stuff plus our kids so it wasn't that easy.

We also rode in a little carriage on the carousal where Prestley cut her elbow on some areas that were missing buttons. She wanted everyone to know that she was REALLY hurt and bleeding...lol. She asked me if I could make her a card with her name on it that said she was sick only she wasn't sick, she just had a boo boo. The things she comes up with crack me up. And Hudsyn gave her usual extreme CHEESE face.

We had a fun filled weekend. Go RANGERS!

Chuck E Cheese

We went to a birthday party at Check E Cheese and the birthday girl was scared. So of course Prestley offered to be the replacement birthday girl. She blew out the candles and everything...lol. She also got to go in the ticket machine. Prestley and Hudsyn both had a great time, I don't know that I can say the same for the birthday girl :)

Kiddie Coop

Every month our small group does a kiddie coop. Basically, it's one night a month that you are guaranteed a free babysitter for a date night or whatever you choose to do. It's from 6:30pm to 11:00pm on a Friday. We take turns keeping the kids and October was our month. There are usually between 7-8 kids but several of them couldn't make it so we lucked out and only had two. Well with our kids, four total. So I decided to make it a Halloween theme. We ate Jack O' Lantern pizza, had Halloween cookies, decorated pumpkins, made BOO buckets, went BOO'ing, and ended the night with some Halloween Dora. And even though we only had two extra kids, it felt like 50 because they were wild...lol.

For those of you that don't know what BOO'ing is... you put some Halloween treats together along with a little note that explains what it is on two people's doorstep, ring the bell and run. You've been BOOed. Then they are supposed to go BOO two people and it's supposed to go around the whole neighborhood. Sometime it catches on and sometimes it doesn't but it still feels good to do something nice for people. And it's FUN! The kids helped put together the buckets and were so excited to go until they actually had to go up to the door. They were all scared. It was hilarious.

State Fair of Texas

We took a day off work and met some friends at the fair. It was pouring down rain but we were determined to make it work since we promised the kids and already had the day off. We had to take cover for about 10 minutes after we got there but then the sun came out and it ended up being a beautiful day. The kids had a great time. This was our first time to go during the week and I must say it's the way to go. It was way less crowded and hectic. We just can't ever find the time to do everything before we are all exhausted. You really need more than one day at the fair to get it all in. These are a few of the things we did.

Fried bubblegum. It's not really bubblegum, just bubblegum flavored. It was YUMMY!

Hudsyn rode one ride and was fine until it started moving. She freaked out a little but then decided she liked it. She started clapping when it was over.

This was Little Hands on the Farm. They get to go around and work on a farm and then collect money (fake of course) to buy something from the store. It was really cute watching Hudsyn try to be one of the big kids.

Uncharted territory...

The Stovall's are headed into uncharted territory. Prestley was a climber. She climbed and jumped off everything. We called her monkey because she used her feet like a monkey would to eat, play, climb, etc. The one thing that Prestley never did was climb out of her crib. We just got super lucky. We transitioned her to a twin bed a few weeks after her 2nd birthday and she never got out of her bed. She would go to sleep and wake up and just sit there calling me until I came in to get her. To this day, she will still sit in her bed and call for me. I have to tell her all the time, if you need something, get out of your bed and come talk to me, don't just sit in there and scream for me because you'll wake up your sister. It's gotten much better but we are still working on it.

We aren't going to be so lucky with Hudsyn. She makes anything Prestley ever did look like child's play. I mean Prestley was fearless so that's saying something.

So as some of you may have read on Facebook, my Saturday morning started around 4:45am. Prestley decided she wanted to come sleep in my bed, so she sat in there calling for me...lol...until I went to get her. And for the record, there is NO sleeping if Prestley is in the bed with you. She is a wild sleeper and on top of that has to be laying RIGHT on top of me. I layed there for what seemed forever trying to go back to sleep and just as I start drifting back off, Chris's alarm starts going off. He decided to play tennis at the crack of dawn. Prestley thinks this means SHE can also get up. So I ask him to get her settled watching cartoons before he leaves so I could try to get a few more minutes of sleep. Right as he is about to leave and I'm about to shut my eyes, I hear Hudsyn's sound machine go off in her room through the monitor. So at this point, I'm thinking you have got to be kidding me. See the day before, Hudsyn escaped from her crib for the first time. I was hoping and praying that it was a one time thing. I call him back in and we go to Hudsyn's room to investigate and she's just walking around her room. Sooooo, it was time to get up. This all happened before 6:45am.

Later that day, Chris and I were discussing if we should go ahead and convert her crib or not. We ran an experiment to see exactly how she was getting out of her crib, how easy it was for her, etc. to help us decide. After watching, it was pretty clear what we needed to do.

So Sunday night we converted her crib and she was so excited. I wasn't sure how it would go but I'm happy to report, she slept in her big girl bed all night long and did not get up. She was still in her bed this morning when we went in to get her. I know it isn't going to last, but night one was a success! I took a picture of her getting ready to go to sleep and Prestley insisted on getting in the photo and posing...lol. Hope everyone has a great week!

It's me again! I really hadn't planned on posting today but I've got something too funny not to share. So, last night I was making myself some crystal light and Prestley asked what I was making. I told her it was fruit punch. She wanted some and I told her no because it was a diet drink and probably not good for little kids. I continued cooking dinner and a little later she asked again if she could have a drink, which prompted my video. When Prestley was younger we used to catch moments like these all the time, where she wouldn't really know the name of something and Fruity Pebbles would become Frugal Pillows, anyone remember that? Anyway, those moments are few and far between these days because she's 4 and all grown up :)

So being the good mom that I am, the rest of the conversation went something like this... Baby, trust me, you do not want any front pooch! hehehe Hope everyone has a great weekend!!!

Getting out of the house!

So since having surgery I haven't been out of the house, except to pick my kids up. On top of my bruised face and healing mouth, I *think* I've also had some sort of stomach virus. It's been a lot of fun around here, let me tell you. So what better way to make my tummy feel better than dinner at CiCi's :) I know, probably not the best idea but we all needed to get out of the house and with all my eating restrictions and the kids, it just seemed like the best option.

Dinner out with the kids usually consists of us threatening Prestley the whole time to eat her food, to stop pouring out the salt and pepper, to leave the pink packets alone, repeating please don't scream, put the knive down, trying to keep Hudsyn from licking the table and chairs, throwing food in the floor or on the people next to us....you get the idea, it can be a beating! Last night was no exception, but I love my family and love being able to spend time together.

Prestley maybe had two bites of her food. Hudsyn, however, made up for both of them. Poor girl must have been starving...lol. She ate a plate of pasta, several pieces of pizza and bread, was pulling food off of our plates, and then daddy came to the table with dessert. Hudsyn started trying to grab it off his plate and repeated, I want cake, I want cake, I want cake, over and over and over, even after I stopped filming. She eventually got "cake." It was actually a brownie. You can't tell how funny it was in the video but Chris was nearly choking on his food from laughing so hard. What's also funny is that in the beginning of the video, Prestley asks me if I'm still on a diet :)

Megan also got a few sweet pictures of the girls today. I seriously don't know how she does it. No one but her can get them to take a decent picture. She's the baby/camera whisperer.

Hudsyn and Chula

So, here I am two days in a row! Diana, your videos always make me feel like I'm there with you. I love being able to take part in little pieces of your days. So I'm going to TRY and post more videos of the girls. You have inspired me :) XOXO

So, since my face is still bruised up and I don't feel comfortable going out in public yet (I can only imagine what people probably think) Chris took my turn at gymnastics with Prestley. Have I mentioned how awesome my husband is. Seriously, it's kind of ridiculous. I'm a lucky girl. Anyway, I let Hudsyn stay up a little later than normal (her bedtime is 6:30pm) so she could torture our dog Chula. Basically, she screams and kicks at her and laughs hysterically. By the time I got my phone to start recording, the really good stuff was over because that's always what happens. My life would be so dull and boring without the high pitched screams of little girls. You can imagine what it's like when Prestley and Hudsyn are both going at it. Oh...and ignore General Hospital on in the background. Yes, I watch General Hospital every.single.day. and have since I was a kid. I usually try not to watch it in front of the kids but Hudsyn was too busy to notice it was on. ENJOY!!!

Playing catch up...

So I'm a horrible blogger, I'm ok with that. I post the important stuff on FB or at least I try. I thought I'd do a little catching up and let everyone know what we've been up to lately. These are all iPhone pics so they aren't the best quality but it's better than nothing. These events are not in order either...but are all recent events.

I had lunch with some high school buddies and their kiddos. So fun to see all of us grown up with families of our own now. These were my attempts to get all the kids together for a photo.

I had my gums grafted. This is what is left after almost a week. I am so grateful for my awesome husband, friends and family who took care of me and the kids while I recovered. We hit a few bumps in the road that we weren't prepared for with the surgery that took me completely out of commission for a while. My hubby totally rocked!

When mom isn't feeling good, we get away with doing crazy stuff like paint...lol. I'm a total clean freak and the sight of playdoh or paint makes my skin crawl but I was not in my right mind so we painted and ate ice cream in the garage one night.

We threw a complete tantrum when mom tried to put me in the carseat and drive home. We screamed the whole way home. Then insisted we be buckled into this said carseat once we got home and mom brought it in from the car to make some adjustments. Apparently, she only hates it if it's in the car...lol.

We played with our daddy. I have a lot of cool pictures and videos of the kids playing with their daddy but because they are mostly first thing in the morning or late in the evening, daddy is often shirtless and vetoed the pictures from being published :)

Someone's little sister who shall remain nameless gave her a black eye :(

Our "baby" got really fast and started climbing up the playset and sliding down on her own before mom or dad could catch her. She is really fast, let me tell you. And if she sees you running after her, she gets this super human speed and is GONE! This kid climbs and jumps off everything which usually results in daily heart attacks. Just ask Allison, you turn your head for one second and she'll be standing on your dining room table.

We had sleepovers with our beastie.

And we got flu shots.

I think that pretty much catches us up for a while :)

Prestley's 4th Birthday

So this year I decided NOT to have her party at our house. It's so much work and cost just as much. We had her party at a place called Bounce U. They handle everything so I just got to sit back and relax and enjoy the party. We didn't really have a theme but did the cake in Alice in Wonderland since that is Prestley's favorite movie. I thought everything turned out really well. Here are a few pics from the party. I can't believe my baby is 4 and will be starting school next year :(

I can't believe it's already been 6 months! Our little munchkin has been crawling and sitting up for a while, but now she's starting to try and pull up on stuff. Luckily, she hasn't quite figured it out yet. I see that we are going to need to invest in a good set of baby gates very soon. She's also sporting a shiny new tooth with more on the way. She is still exclusively nursing but we'll probably start introducing some food soon. I'm going to skip cereal this time around and start with avocados. Stay tuned for those pics... 39 weeks and showing some progress....

So for most people, I know this isnt' much, but for me it's huge! I was dialated 1/2cm at my appointment and he said that my cervix has started to thin and that the baby had dropped some more. Things are finally started to progress and a successful VBAC (vaginal birth) is looking more hopeful. Blood pressure and everything else is still holding up so I'm excited. Here are a few belly pics and a few extras of Prestley.

37 weeks...

Hudsyn is measuring to be appx 7lbs 3oz and is still very high. She apparently doesn't want to come out or is just trying to give me anxiety. Doctor said at this time a vaginal delivery isn't looking very favorable but that the next two weeks would tell a lot. I'm still going to try for it but if I end up with another c-section, I'm fine with that. I just want a healthy baby. If I don't go into labor on my own beforehand, I'll be having the baby March 20th via c-section. The doctor won't let me go beyond that date. My blood pressure and everything else is still doing great. Sorry for the crappy i-phone pics but it's better than nothing.

34 week appointment...

The first words out of my doctors mouth..."Wow, your belly is getting big, this is going to be a big baby, I bet she's 5lbs already." That's exactly what I wanted to hear...lol. Everything is still going great, looking forward to my shower Saturday.

My mom and grandma ordered our car seat and stroller online and we got it last night. I put it all together and it's just waiting for Hudsyn to arrive. I'm sure Prestley will try it out and make sure it's safe when she sees it.

The odd things Prestley chooses to sleep with...

I've decided to try and document all the weird things Prestley picks out to sleep with. Every night I let her pick something and every night I ask her, are you sure you want to sleep with _________ (fill in the blank)? She used to sleep with stuffed animals and baby dolls but not anymore. The item that really inspired me to start taking pictures was her kitchen sink. She HAD to sleep with her kitchen sink. I didn't get pictures of her sleeping with it but I assure you it is as far from cuddly as you can get. Here are a few of the latest items.

I'm doing great. My blood pressure was actually low this time. Everything is still on schedule for March 18th. Her name is officially Hudsyn Nicole and the nursery is almost done. It's quite a change from being on bedrest to being able to decorate the nursery :) We had The Container Store come out and do her closet this week and I love it.

So Prestley doesn't feel left out, we have also painted and decorated her room. She wanted pink so she got pink! We still have work to do on both rooms but it is coming together very nicely. Once we get everything done, I'll post pics.

I'll just say, I don't consider myself crafty at all. I don't usually decorate for the holidays but since we have our own house now and kiddos, I thought I'd give it a try. It's actually kind of addicting...LOL. I think it looks pretty good for an amateur. ALMOST everything was given to me by my grandma so I spent very little money.

My 25 week appointment

I had my 25 week check up on Dec 3rd. My doctor had to go deliver a baby as soon as I got there so I had to see the nurse practitioner. She said that everything looks great. The baby was head down while I was there and kicking like crazy. My blood pressure is still good so hopefully I won't be having the same problems as last time. I think I was being put on bedrest around this time with Prestley. I have however, already gained 24lbs. I have blown up within the last few weeks. I didn't think I looked that bad until I saw some pictures of myself this weekend. I am HUGE! It doesn't help that I'm going through the holiday season with all the good foods or that I'm addicted to candy right now. I'm trying to do better but I can't help it if the baby wants candy, I have to give it to her :)
I go back on Dec 23rd for another sono and my glucose test. Hopefully, we'll find out if Hudsyn is REALLY a girl. I'm 99.9% sure, but since they haven't gotten a clear shot yet, I won't be convinced until they do. I'll update again after my appointment.

Baby Ballet

So I signed Prestley up for Baby Ballet since it was the only activity in the evening that I could make it to after work. I specifically asked if she needed to wear or bring anything special. They told me NO. What they didn't tell me is that although she didn't HAVE to wear anything special, she would be the only one that wasn't dressed like a Ballerina. I felt so bad for her :( The other girls seemed so much older. She was the only one still in diapers. She ran around like a crazy person. It was pretty mortifying...lol. After class, I talked to the teacher to make sure that we were indeed in the right class. The teacher said she actually did great for her first time and age and not to worry about it. So we will continue to go back and we will be getting our Ballerina gear for the next class. This picture makes me wanna cry!

1st Dentist Appointment

Prestley had her first dentist appointment this morning and it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. She cried a little but once they got started, she liked the flavored stuff they were using and calmed down. They were really quick and great with her. They said everything looked good despite the fact she usually just sucks the paste off the toothbrush instead of actually brushing. I didn't get any pictures once we got back to see the dentist but I got one of her in the waiting room petting the horse.

We had a sonogram yesterday and she was very confident we are having another baby girl. It's still early so we aren't rushing out to buy pink just yet but the doctor said she (the sonographer) noted it on my chart and she doesn't do that this early unless she's sure. We go back October 8th for our big sonogram to find out for sure.

Prestley is going through a phase where she won't eat anything. The two things she will usually eat and my fall backs when she won't anything else are eggs and pasta. Well we were going on like 2 weeks of her having pasta for dinner. One, because I despise going grocery shopping and we didn't have much variety and two, because that's all she'll really eat. So I started feeling guilty that she wasn't eating very good and decided to try a new recipe that I thought she'd eat. I forced myself to go to the store to get the stuff, remember, I despise grocery shopping. It was for Cheesy Spaghetti Squash. It looks like pasta and is somewhat nutritious so I thought for sure it would be a success. I thought it was pretty good, especially for my first attempt. Prestley however thought otherwise.

Our sweet baby girl is 2 today. I can't believe how fast time flies. She's becoming her own little person and is sooooo much fun. AND... gets in sooooooooooooo much trouble. I couldn't imagine my life without her. We woke her up by singing Happy Birthday, and she sat up like, what in the world is going on here, then she started smiling! It melted my heart! We are taking her to Boomerangs to eat and play tonight and then going to the aquarium and having her bday party tomorrow. I love that she gets excited about things now. I'll post pictures of all the festivities throughout the weekend.

We got Prestley new big girl furniture for her birthday next month. Since she has a new room now, we went ahead and set it up for her. She's not quite ready to start sleeping it in, we need to get her a rail for the side, but she loves it! The bedding was from her Meemie as part of her birthday presents. We picked it out though. I wanted something a little more grown up but still kid approved, and she did approve! We haven't decorated the rest of the room yet but will soon.

We closed on the house 7/17 and are almost done moving. It's been a long, hard process but we finally have our 1st house. You can tell Prestley has already made herself at home :)

It's REALLY early but I just can't keep this a secret! I'll be due around March 18th, 2010. We are sooooo excited but NERVOUS! We are going to have TWO kids, holy cow! Keep us in your prayers, as most of you know, my last pregnancy was no piece of cake.

Allison and I took Prestley and Charlotte to meet up with one of our friends from high school and her daughter. We went to have lunch, got stuck in a ditch, went swimming, went to dinner, went for ice cream, then went to the park. It was a very long but awesome day. June 30th Completion Date

We still don't have an exact closing date but we found out the house will be finished June 30th. We are hoping we'll get to move in around the middle of July. Here are some updated pictures of how the house is progessing. Oh, and I'm throwing in a few of Prestley too because I can't resist.

Our Tuesday Evening ER Visit...

Tuesday afternoon the babysitter called and said Prestley was running a fever of 102.1. So I picked her up and headed for the doctor for what I thought was going to be a quick in and out visit. Now a little back story...
On Sunday morning Prestley woke up and was playing in her crib when she suddenly started crying. I went in to check on her and she was holding her arm complaining that it hurt. I figured she stuck it through the rails on her crib and bent it the wrong way or something. I tried to pick her up and she started crying like she was in severe pain. She wouldn't let us touch it or move it so we iced it down, gave her some motrin and just held her for a while. By the afternoon she was using her arm fine and it didn't seem to really bother her.
Ok, back to the doctor visit. Prestley was running around the little room like a crazy person, flipping and climbing on everything. She apparently hurt her arm again because she started crying hysterically and holding that same arm. When the doctor came in, she wouldn't let her touch her and it appeared like her arm was broken in a million pieces...of course I knew it wasn't but she was hysterical. So the doctor insisted I take her to the ER for X-rays since her arm was hurting and she was running a fever with no other symtoms. I of course don't want to take her because I know there isn't anything major wrong with her and I don't have $100 bucks to waste but she was concerned there could be a bone or joint infection that was causing the fever and her arm to hurt. So against what I thought, I took her to the ER. We had multiple X-rays done and a strep test, just in case... and as I suspected, there was nothing wrong with her. We didn't get home until after 10pm, we hadn't had dinner, we were tired, cranky and out another $120 bucks and we still had no idea what was causing her fever. What a night!

We Are Under Contract

After months of house hunting and heart break over losing the house we really wanted, we finally have a contract! It's a new house, still under construction, so it will be completely move in ready which was the main selling point for us. We've been looking at much larger homes but decided that we didn't want to take on all the work it was going to take to make them what we wanted. Not to mention we don't have tons of time and money to make those improvements right away. So we decided on a smaller new house. It has four bedrooms, a formal living and dining room and is just under 2000 sq feet. I'm excited and think it will suit us just fine. Everyone pray that the rest of this process is smooth sailing and that we don't run into any problems. Here are a few pics. I'll post more as the contruction progresses.

Prestley's Dr. Appt

Prestley saw an Allergy Immunologist yesterday for some more tests. They did a full work up of her immune system and the skin allergy test. She isn't allergic to anything but we were pretty sure that wasn't the problem anyway. She is having a CT of her sinuses done today as well. We are determined to get our baby girl better. We should know more once we get all the test results back but hopefully we can finally get some answers. We are starting some new medication so maybe she'll stay well for a while this time. Normally, Prestley isn't allowed suckers or candy or junk because I'm a mean old mommy but because she was so brave and didn't even cry when they took her blood she got lots of treats. She ended up having 2 suckers at the doctors office because she had to be occupied long enough not to touch her back during the allergy testing. She thought they were the greatest things ever! Then I took her to McDonlad's and she didn't eat any of her food but she did eat a packet of carmel syrup meant for dipping apples. THEN....they were mopping the play area and Prestley slipped and bumped her head super hard, started crying hysterically, so I felt bad and bought her ice cream. Then we went to Allison's so she could play with Charlotte and she got some cheerios. So pretty much she ate junk all day and guess what she told me afterward??? Mommy, my belly hurts...lol...I wonder why!

House Update...

So we didn't get the house we really wanted, someone snatched it up from under us. We still haven't heard back on the other house we made an offer on, but that's a good thing because I'm really unsure about the house. Apparently, the listing agent has a hard time reaching his client so who knows when we might hear something. BUT... we found another house we like and have made an offer on that one as well. It's A LOT smaller than the other houses we've been looking at but it's cute and we really like the neighborhood and location. Even though it's small, I think it will still give us plenty of room. And it's just a starter house right...lol. Anyway, hopefully we'll know something this week because I'm sick to death of looking at houses.

Our long Memorial Day Weekend...

We had plans to go to Austin Friday for Brandon's graduation from UT but found out Thursday that Prestley had strep throat. Soooo, guess who got to stay home with her :) Chris went to Austin by himself and we stayed home to get some much needed rest. She is taking some medicine that smells rotten and makes me gag just to give it to her. We have to dip the syringe in chocolate syrup just to get it in her mouth and then we still have to force it down. Poor baby, she's such a trooper.
Anyway, so Saturday evening we took her to build a bear to pick out some clothes for her monkey and then went to dinner. We sat on the patio because they had live music but of course Prestley ended up being the star of the show. She was clapping and dancing and had everyone smiling.
Sunday, Chris cleaned our house GOOD, while I napped. Oh, how I love him...lol. Then we went to Allison and Jason's for dinner. Prestley and Charlotte are so cute together.
Monday, we went to the park with the Sattler's and Duckworth's for a cookout. The kids played, we ate good food and just enjoyed good company. Prestley wore herself out and fell a sleep watching Nemo as soon as we got home. It was a good long weekend, now it's back to business!

Practicing for two...

We had Jolie this weekend, so we got some practice in on what it will be like with two kids. As most of you already know, Chris and I are going to try and expand the family soon. No....I'm not pregnant yet, but hopefully soon. We've also put offers on two houses. We really prefer one over the other so say a little prayer for us and **cross those fingers** we get it.

Surprise trip to New Orleans

Chris turned the BIG 3-0 May 5th so I surprised him with a trip to New Orleans. We went with our friends Brenda and Jerry. It was an 8 hour car ride but we had so much fun. Brenda and I started the trip off with massages...oh how I love getting massaged. Chris won $300 playing poker, and we ended up spending almost all of it. Bourbon St was pretty disgusting. It smelled of vomit and had pics of naked girls pretty much on every wall. Definitley not a family place, although oddly enough, we saw lots of people with their kids. We ate tons of food, especially on the car ride...me and Brenda can put away some gas station junk food. I tried my first Oyster. It wasn't raw, it was chargrilled and it wasn't as disgusting as I thought it would be. But... I wouldn't eat it again. Chris and Jerry tried turtle soup, I couldn't do it. They also rode a mechanical bull, which was hilarious. I'm not good at detailing every moment but those were the highlights. We didn't take many pictures but here are a few.

We spent Easter in Mabank and Prestley went to her 3rd Easter egg hunt. We are THOSE parents that don't let her have candy so she left with a bunch of empty eggs...lol. She got to hunt more eggs once we got home that were filled with healthy snacks and toys so she made out pretty well. I'm telling you, our child is wild enough without adding any candy to the mix.

Just when everyone was getting over the stomach virus, Prestley got the flu. So we've been home sick this week. We all got flu shots too, go figure. Prestley has also become very girly lately. She loves wearing her sunglasses, necklaces, bracelets and watches. Oh and her new favorite movie is Bee Movie. We've now watched it 22,798,402 times since we were home sick all week.

The Plague

So Prestley had some super strain of the stomach bug. It started Friday evening and lasted until Tuesday. She threw up so much that she got dehydrated and we ended up at Pediactric After Hours on Sunday. It's the worst thing in the world when your child is BEGGING for food and water and you can't give it to them. She couldn't even keep down 1 suck of a pedialyte popsicle. Whenever she would throw up, she'd say "mommy, I made a mess" ***heart breaking*** I could go on and on with heart breaking moments from the last week but I'll spare you. So anyway, the good news is she's better now and getting back to her terrorizing ways. The bad news.... my grandma now has the bug. Excuse the horrid pics of me, I wasn't feeling good that day either. Chris insisted on letting us lay in bed all day and boss him around. He took great care of us...thank you babe, you're the best!

So Prestley refuses to use the little potty or her Dora training seat, she MUST use the big potty. So in order for her to not fall in, she does the splits and balances herself on it...lol. She has been doing really well but right now potty time is more for entertainment than actually going to the bathroom.

Prestley is 18 mo. She went for her check up on Feb 23rd and is growing like a weed. She is 24lbs now and I can't remember the height but I think it was 32 and something inches. She's talking up a storm now and amazes me with something new everyday. The doctor even commented that she's a little smarty pants. We've started potty training and she's doing really well so far. Hopefully, we'll be through with diapers soon! ***This has already been addressed but just so there is no confusion...Jennifer O took the pics of Prestley in the hat and pink coat, Allison took the ones of Prestley and Charlotte and I took the rest. I don't want my blog to turn into battle of the photogs! :)***

Please keep my cousin Crystal and her family in your thoughts and prayers. They think her daughter Ashlyn has some rare blood disorder called ITP. She is in the hospital and we are waiting for more test to be done. Apparently, her condition is very serious. That’s all the details I really have at this time. I’ll update as soon as I know more. Prayers, prayers and more prayers!!! Thanks.

Ok, I'll admit that I'm the biggest chicken when it comes to storms. I HATE them. So last night when the tornado sirens started going off (or maybe a little before they started going off), you better believe I'm going to start yelling for Chris to wake up, scoop Prestley up and head for the closet. By the time we got everything cleaned out enough to get in the closet, it was pretty much over. I convinced Chris to take a picture of me and Prestley in the closet (during the tornado). Such sacrifice!
